I'll try my best to put this into words...

Every man should do this, at the very least, once in his life.

We can all joke that men die sooner, but isn't there truth to this? Is it because we don't talk about our challenges, either because we might appear weak, we don't have someone who will listen, we don't make the time or it might be too traumatic to talk about.

This was my chance to do something for myself.

I was skeptical. Who are these other guys? Am I going to be trapped? What if I had nothing to say? Was this going to help?

I can fix this by myself. Truth was, I needed a plan.

Daniel is my twin brother...which made it much harder for me to get there. You know how it is with your brother. You fought together. You cried together. You laughed together and you've been mad at each other. I had a hard time accepting his guidance. I didn't understand his life in Sedona, now I do.

You need to remove yourself from the every day distractions to be able to "see" what you're missing. I live on Kaua'i so I don't have distractions like I had in San Diego, but I have distractions and I needed to make time for this.

Daniel made everyone feel comfortable, which would be difficult for most people. We were allowed to speak as much as we wanted to and open up to what we were comfortable with. The first day was feeling everyone out. By the second or third day, we listened to each other's stories with an appreciation and compassion for what it took to relay it. After that I felt like I made some lifelong friends. It reminded me of some friends I made in the military. Like, "I got your back". After the third day, we had gotten comfortable with each other and could joke around and enjoy the time, knowing we had expressed our challenges to the group.

Our meals were prepared by Shama Smith. Everyone raved about the meals so much we ate them for breakfast. I'm getting hungry just thinking about her cornbread.

We had two hikes in a stunning part of Sedona, called Cathedral Rock. The first hike was a short, exploratory hike and then a swim in a cold creek. The second was more challenging, but well worth the end result. Daniel took us to a magical notch in the upper part of the canyon spires. From here Daniel played his digeridoo, which echoed throughout the canyon and to the parking lot below. We were stopped several times by other hikers who wanted Daniel to play his "didge".

The speakers who gave their time were phenomenal. There were a variety of topics discussed. This helped us to be more aware of ourselves, helped us be better men and to be more in control of our happiness.

I was skeptical about the breathwork. How can breathing have such a profound affect on our mind, body and consciousness, as they say? Breathwork tore down the wall that I had up for many, many years. The release was eye-opening and felt like I got to know myself better.

I tried to write a short, concise testimonial but finding the right words was challenging. If you want "to be a better man" and what you've tried: church, masonic fraternities, clubs and sports haven't worked; this gets to the seed of it all. I wish you the best!

Bradford said: “Thank you brother for such an awakening, transformative and instructional retreat!!! I have more than I came with. Thank you for holding space for me, and providing a place for immense understanding of the path and being an authentic guide of the true true!!!”

Angela (Bradford’s wife) said “My baby DOING THE WORK! This is what true Masculine energy is all about. Daniel Posney has one of the most sweetest energies I’ve met in a gentleman. It was such a pleasure to spend time. I highly recommend folk to check this out!”
